Academic Editors provide independent scholarly oversight of manuscripts within their areas of expertise. Their responsibilities may include:

  • Initial academic assessment
  • Selection and invitation of appropriate reviewers
  • Management of the peer-review process
  • Evaluation of reviewer reports
  • Oversight of manuscript revisions
  • Editorial recommendation
  • Editorial decision-making in accordance with JSKAR policies

Editorial Independence & Conflicts of Interest

JSKAR maintains editorial independence and applies the same standards of peer review to all submissions, including manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial team.

When an editorial team member submits a manuscript:

  • The manuscript is assigned to an independent Academic Editor.
  • The submitting editor has no involvement in reviewer selection.
  • The submitting editor does not participate in the peer-review process.
  • The submitting editor does not participate in the editorial decision.
  • The independent Academic Editor manages the peer-review process.
  • The final decision follows the journal's established editorial process.

These safeguards are intended to ensure fairness, transparency, and confidence in the journal's editorial process.
